[Note: This blog discusses the findings of the Newton Institute who carry out regressive life-between-life hypnosis. It relates mainly to souls that do not leave the Matrix system and simply move between the astral plane and the physical plane. Ultimately, souls need to exit the Matrix System they have become trapped in.]
The Newton Institute tells us that soul mates come from a small group of souls who were created together by Source. The members of this small group have developed and evolved over many incarnations, and naturally are very close to one another. These souls tend to incarnate together from life to life, but often are not in long-term romantic partnerships. Those who are searching for “their soul mate” who will become a life partner and satisfy romantic dreams are likely to be disappointed.
Soul mates are there in each other’s lives to assist in soul development and overcome human traits which slow development and block exploration of the wider non-physical realms, which is of far greater importance to the soul than the soul’s short time in ‘physicality’. A soul’s time in physicality is simply to ‘road test’ the soul’s non-physical learning and development.
Our knowledge of this information about soul groups primarily derives from regressive hypnotherapy which takes the participant into the period between lives (mainly on the astral plane), and was pioneered by the late Dr Michael Newton.
His work, which involved the regression of over 7,000 people, was documented in his books Journey of Souls, Destiny of Souls and Wisdom of Souls (amongst others). Other pioneers of this technique include Dr Joel Whitton whose book Life between Life pre-dates Michael Newton’s first publication by over a decade.
There are now many life-between-life facilitators, trained by the Newton Institute, who practice live-between-lives (LBL) regression. Through the many regressions Dr Newton carried out, he developed a practical model of the spirit realms, and what souls do during this period in the non-physical realms.
The design of soul mates is a beautiful design to make the journey from Source and ultimately back to Source more enjoyable and stable. Soul mates are almost like marker buoys along the way whom we meet regularly across the course of our many lives.
They can help with the ‘gamble of life’ where planned events do not work out, such as where chosen parents turn out differently from the way we anticipated. People such as chosen parents are often not part of our own inner soul group, but are part of a larger cluster of thousands of souls we associate with in the spirit realms, who have come to play a role in our spiritual development. Romantic, loving, relationships also often come from outside the inner soul group. This allows that soul the opportunity to grow outside the group.
Naturally we have had romantic partners for life who are our soul mates, but soul mates take on many roles. What can be said for sure is that we know a soul mate, and should be grateful for their presence in our life, as they love us deeply even if their role is to teach us a hard lesson.
Where members of a soul group have chosen not to be in a close relationship during a particular life, they may nevertheless meet and have a brief romantic encounter. This is purely a planned “meet” to lighten what may otherwise be a tough life of learning. These meetings can be some of the best moments from that life.
In our current physical life, they may however be disguised as people we can’t stand or who have broken our hearts or betrayed us. They can’t always be our romantic lover. That’s too easy, and limits development, even though it is a pleasant experience that we generally don’t want to end. We need to keep an open mind as soul mates won’t necessarily be playing the role of a perfect life partner who will support, love and cherish us.
Simply enjoy the journey, however hard it may seem. It is just a game, or as Robert Munroe termed it, it’s “the Earth Life System”, a near-perfect system for learning and developing.
It’s the journey of the soul. As Ursula Le Guin put it in her classic book The Left Hand of Darkness:
“It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.”
