William Buhlman’s 2016 publication Higher Self Now is a masterpiece. A short book packed with clearly stated information, not a word is wasted. Essential reading for anyone seeking knowledge of what happens after death, how to prepare for permanent out of body transition, and what is involved in the process of out of body travelling.
Buhlman is very specific in his philosophy that preparation for death almost certainly involves changing our current thought processes.
It is not about adding new philosophies, but about stripping away the many falsehoods that obstruct our “eternal light”. Leaving behind limiting earthly ‘belief systems’ is a vital step. But successful transition demands that we address this.
As Buhlman says, from childhood we are taught to accept that “we are our physical body”. We are taught that life is a biological event that ceases at death. From birth we are told to have faith in the dictates of powerful institutions.
This ‘faith’ (in other words, free of actual knowledge) ensures that we are programmed to settle for religious doctrines and scientific theories rather than pursuing personal spiritual experiences and knowledge. We look to others for answers when it is all there within us already if we knew how to look. Buhlman is in a small category who know where to look within, and tells us.
Many people struggle with ways of thinking that are different from the belief systems programmed from their childhood, but to develop spiritually, we owe it to ourselves to keep seeking new perceptions of reality. We may consider and then discard those different paradigms, but listening is worth the effort.
As was mentioned in the blog “What is Love?” though, we cannot avoid the reality that most people face, which is that “Listening is hard because we run the risk of having to change the way we see the world”.
Spiritual awakening requires the personal courage to break from herd mentality and open our minds to new possibilities.
To break from ‘herd’ or ‘collective’ thinking, we need to stand back and simply observe daily events dispassionately, rather than ‘taking sides’.
The controllers of the world desire that we don’t become an ‘individual-thinker’, with thought processes worked out ourselves from knowledge we have gathered. This makes control significantly more difficult. They desire that they don’t have to expend excess energy and resources controlling ‘outsiders’.
Spiritual existence requires that we think for ourselves. Buhlman (who was taught by Robert Munroe) sets out the basic rule, which is that the fewer attachments to physical existence that we have, whether that be people, physicality and earthly senses, our current identity, job, home, location, and so on, the less ‘psychic weight’ we carry. This is critical at the time of transition.
Connecting with our higher self at transition enables us to move to the appropriate place after death. As Buhlman says, “when entering our future thought responsive home, our current thoughts and beliefs will determine our new destination”.
He continues: “No matter what method of inner exploration we employ, we cannot escape our own mind. This is why purging any distorted or false self-identity, beliefs and fears is essential. In the afterlife, we must be prepared and knowledgeable in order to experience our own energy projections. This begins by taking full responsibility for our thoughts and deeds now”.
Bulhman is making it clear that the afterlife is thought responsive. Thus, developing the ‘right thoughts’ starts now.
At death it is imperative to remain focused on our highest intention or goal and maintain a sense of detachment from the material world.
Elsewhere on this blogspot site there is a discussion about how to achieve “escape velocity”, the technique for a clean exit from the physical plane:

But if we are in any doubt on our travels out of body, all we need to say is “Higher Self Now!”. We will be taken there. Fear not.
